Ever feel like your trombone is trying to beat you up? ๐ฅ๐บ
Check out these two videos. The first one shows a slide before “regulating” (straightening), and the second is after we got it pin straight.
When a slide is out of line, playing becomes a contact sport. You extend the slide, and it drags the whole instrument away from your face. You pull it back in, and it jams the mouthpiece right into your chops. Itโs bad for your playing, bad for your embouchure, and honestly… itโs a dental hazard. ๐ฆท
Don’t wrestle with your instrument! A quick regulation makes the slide float on air, keeps your mouthpiece where it belongs, and makes playing feel effortless again.
